NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina jeweler is staying in jail after police say he shot and killed his wife after they argued inside their store.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports (https://bit.ly/2ohURUk ) Ivo Colucci was denied bail during a court hearing Saturday. The 80-year-old North Charleston jewelry shop owner is charged with murdering his 74-year-old wife, Doris.

Detectives say video captured by a store surveillance camera showed the couple arguing Friday afternoon, then Ivo Colucci pulling a gun out of his pocket and shooting his wife in the head. Police says Colucci then retrieved the shell casing that was ejected by the bullet and put it in his pocket.

Defense attorney Christopher Lizzi said Colucci was diagnosed with dementia last year and there is an investigation into his mental capacity.
