SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Five tax day marches are scheduled across the San Francisco Bay Area Saturday in protest of President Donald Trump refusing to release his tax returns.

KNTV reports (https://bit.ly/2oubzRY ) there will be marches in San Francisco, San Jose, Palo Alto, Walnut Creek and Santa Cruz.

Local marches will coincide with the Tax March on Washington, also Saturday. Thousands are expected to attend that march, the station reports.

This year, taxes are due on Tuesday because April 15 falls on a weekend and Monday is a federal holiday.

President Trump has repeatedly said an Internal Revenue Service audit prevents him from releasing his records. The IRS has released a statement that says an audit would not preclude anyone from releasing their own tax information.

The website Taxmarch.org shows logistical information about local marches.
