JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - State and local officials are trying to determine how and why a former defense department manufacturing plant burned in southwestern Pennsylvania.
The fire began late Saturday at the former DynaCom Industries complex in Johnstown. That’s about 60 miles east of Pittsburgh.
The fire burned for 13 hours and, at one point, all of Johnstown’s 30 firefighters were at the scene along with firefighters from several other companies.
Nobody was hurt but assistant fire chief John Brudzinski says the vacant 60,000-square-foot complex is a total loss.
A state police fire marshal and Johnstown authorities are investigating.
