PHOENIX (AP) - October was one of the warmest months in Phoenix’s history, with the city having a record 26 consecutive days of high temperatures of at least 90 degrees.

The previous mark was 25 straight days, set in 1952.

According to the National Weather Service, Phoenix’s high of 100 on Oct. 27 was a record for that date and the latest the city has seen a 100-degree day. The previous date was Oct. 23, 2001.

Phoenix’s 76 degrees on Oct. 28 was the warmest low temperature for that date and the latest date for a low of at least 75 degrees. The previous mark was Oct. 15, 2015.

Meteorologists also say Phoenix’s average temperature of 81 degrees for the month was 4.3 degrees above normal. The record is 82.7 degrees in 2003.
