Liberal icon Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts is holding out on Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, as she’s yet to endorse Mrs. Clinton’s run for the White House and declined to attend a Capitol Hill fundraiser Monday for the former first lady.

In fact, Mrs. Warren was the only female Democratic senator absent from the event.

Although Mrs. Warren signed a letter urging Mrs. Clinton to run for the highest office, she hasn’t officially endorsed Mrs. Clinton’s campaign. Liberals tried unsuccessfully to enlist Mrs. Warren to run for the White House, and there were even rumors she’d join Vice President Joseph R. Biden’s ticket if he decided to pursue the nomination. The rumors were fueled after the two met for lunch prior to his announcing he wouldn’t run.

Monday night’s fundraiser was at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill, and every other female Democratic senator — Tammy Baldwin, Barbara Boxer, Maria Cantwell, Dianne Feinstein, Kirsten Gillibrand, Heidi Heitkamp, Mazie Hirono, Amy Klobuchar, Claire McCaskill, Barbara Mikulski, Patty Murray, Jeanne Shaheen and Debbie Stabenow — was in attendance.

Mrs. Warren’s anti-Wall Street stance aligns her more closely with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, as Mrs. Clinton’s campaign has profited greatly from Wall Street donations and her financial reforms don’t go as far to dismantle big banks as those of either Mr. Sanders or former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley.

Thirty-eight of the 46 Senators who caucus with the Democrats have endorsed Mrs. Clinton.
