Former late night talk show host Arsenio Hall went on social media with a vulgar and expletive-laced rant directed at Sen. Marco Rubio.

“44 years ago you should have been left in a hotel hand towel full of [sperm] and Astroglide @MarcoRubio. Now THAT, was classless … [expletive]head!” the comedian wrote on Wednesday.

Mr. Hall’s rant came after the Florida Republican said that the next U.S. president needed class. Mr. Rubio said during an interview on “Fox and Friends” that he didn’t believe Messrs. Obama or Trump consistently demonstrated that quality.

“We already have a president now that has no class,” said Mr. Rubio, Mediaite reported. “I mean, we have a president now that does selfie-stick videos, that invites YouTube stars there, people who eat cereal out of a bathtub. He goes on comedy shows to talk about something as serious as Iran. The list goes on and on. It is important for us to have a presidency that restores dignity and class to the White House, and I don’t believe that some of the language that Mr. Trump is employing is worthy of the office. I just do not.”

Mr. Hall’s Twitter feed filled with negative feedback after the attack.

“I liked that one joke you did in 1992. @ArsenioHall I didn’t really laugh, but it did make me go ’hmmm,’ ” Jon Gabriel wrote.

“Can’t believe you don’t have a show anymore. Anyway, remember how 1990 was awesome?” wrote another user.

Conservative commentator Dana Loesch told Mr. Hall that she watched him as a child, but that his comments were “uncalled for.”
