Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service said Tuesday that a British man has been charged with plotting a terrorist attack on U.S. military personnel.

Officials said Junead Khan, 24, from Luton, was planning to run over a U.S. service member with a car and then attack the individual with a knife, ABC News reported. It was also revealed in Westminster Magistrates’ Court that he considered wearing a suicide vest.

Mr. Khan was arrested July 14. His 22-year-old uncle, Shazib Khan, was also arrested and charged in connection with the terror plot, ABC reported. The men are also accused of attempting to join the Islamic State group.

“We have concluded that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest to charge Junead Khan and Shazib Khan with the intention of committing acts of terrorism,” said Deborah Walsh, deputy head of counter terrorism at the Crown Prosecution Service, ABC reported.
