Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe has been released from the hospital and is resuming his schedule of meetings and private events Thursday, according to his office.
Mr. McAuliffe had been admitted to VCU Medical Center Monday for treatment resulting from injuries he suffered after being thrown from a horse in Africa while on a family vacation over the holidays.
He broke seven ribs in the incident; his office said doctors had expected the injury to heal on its own, but they identified fluid around his lungs that required a procedure to remove.
