Clinton bagman and soon-to-be former governor of Virginia Terry McAuliffe continues to latch onto the specious science of climate change and Obama boondoggles in the renewable-energy realm (“As climate panel weighs in, McAuliffe stakes out solar goal,” Web, Dec. 21). How many tax-funded failures must ’Terrible Terry’ be involved in before he turns matters over to serious businessmen and scientists? It is time for Virginia to give the hucksters and Marxists the heave-ho.

Mr. McAuliffe is the supreme ’If man.’ If sea levels rise, the Atlantic fleet will come sailing up the James River like Yankee gunboats. If we don’t have the Sierra Club involved in every policy decision Virginia will cease to be ’green.’ Mr. McAuliffe was probably present when that single, quasi-scientist said eggs were bad for us.

Mr. McAuliffe should try talking about what he knows, not just what he wants the residents of Virginia to know. How many scientists of dissenting opinion has he spoken to? My bet is not many. Like most politicians in the Democratic Party, he just seems to make it up as he goes along.

Why not go back to what you did well, Mr. McAuliffe, and raise money? This time, though, let’s give it to science to cure cancer rather than hand it out to huckster politicians and corrupt businessmen. You’re not likely to get into Heaven, but turning over this new leaf might get you a better seat near the fire.
