The 4-year-old boy who was nailed in the head with a football thrown by Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio in a now-viral video is talking tough in a new update.
“Hey, Rubio,” Brody Dill says in video posted online Wednesday by his uncle, Iowa state Sen. Jack Whitver. “When you come back to Iowa, I’ll be ready for you, Rubio.”
Brody was one of several children at a Rubio campaign event Monday in Ankeny. The Florida senator was throwing passes to a line of kids ages 2 to 10, The Des Moines Register reported.
Bloomberg Politics captured the clip of Brody tumbling to the ground after trying to catch a pass by Mr. Rubio.
“Good pass, but right off the head,” Mr. Whitver told the Register on Wednesday. “It was a real moment that shows the human side of a candidate. Every dad can relate to it and every kid has had a ball bounce of their head at some point.”
The video quickly went viral, with ESPN, tweeting: “This pass from presidential candidate Marco Rubio wasn’t terrible … but it sure didn’t end well for the receiver.”
“The QB always gets the blame,” Mr. Rubio responded.
