Alton Nolen, the former Vaughn Foods employee who was injured by police and is suspected of beheading an Oklahoma coworker, has regained consciousness and spoken with authorities.

Officers didn’t specify what he said. But a spokesman for police said, Mediaite reported: “He wasn’t targeting anyone, wasn’t going specifically after them. It appears they were just in his way as he came in.”

The second victim is in the hospital recovering from multiple stab wounds.

Mr. Nolen, 30, had been fired from the Moore business. Shortly after, he drove his car into the building and assaulted two of his former coworkers, ultimately beheading a woman. One of the store owners finally shot him.

Mr. Nolen’s background included criminal arrests — as well as a recent conversion to Islam, Mediaite reported.

Police said murder and other charges will be presented to the district attorney for filing Monday, The Associated Press reported.
