The government in Sierra Leone has gone beyond a national lockdown to fight the spread of Ebola, now cordoning off three more areas deemed “hotspots” for the disease — meaning, only a select few will be allowed to enter and exit the sites.

President Ernest Bal Koroma put Port Loko, Bombali and Moyamba districts in isolation, The Associated Press reported. The only people allowed in and out of the areas are those making essential deliveries. Moreover, homes in the hotspots found to have Ebola will be placed under quarantine, authorities said.

Two other districts were previously put under isolation, AP reported.

Ebola is believed to have caused illness for more than 6,200 in West Africa, the World Health Organization reported on Thursday. Almost 3,000 have died from the disease, AP reported.
