Former Baltimore Raven star Ray Rice has a plan for winning his appeal to overturn his indefinite suspension from the NFL — prove that the much-watched video of his punch-out of then-fiance Janay Palmer was actually unfairly edited to paint him a poor light.
In fact, it’s a “cleaned-up, whittled-down and condensed version,” ESPN reported his legal team as saying.
TMZ, meanwhile, called Mr. Rice’s attempt to cast light off the fact that he punched his girlfriend — now wife — the “dumbest defense ever,” the New York Post reported.
“As we initially reported, the original raw video was jerky … so we removed the reverse frames,” TMZ reported.
But Mr. Rice’s defense team, who is trying to lift the football player’s indefinite suspension, suggests the editing makes the video moot — that it only proves the punch is out of context, the New York Post reported.
