Members of Sarah Palin’s family — including the former Alaska governor herself — were reportedly in the thick of a boisterous public brawl that involved around 20 people attending an Anchorage dog sled event, various media reported.
The blog Wonkette.com said a representative for the Anchorage Police Department confirmed the Palin clan was on scene, but nobody was arrested and nobody pressed charges.
“Anita in the Anchorage Police Department’s communications office is sitting at her desk at 7:15 a.m. on a Thursday, so probs they are waiting for a whole mess of calls from Jake Tapper or whatever,” wrote Wonkette editor and owner Rebeecca Schoenkopf. “Anita confirms that a huge bloody mess of a brawl between multiple subjects took place Saturday night and that the Palins were ’present.’ “
Another blogger for a different site, the Immoral Minority, wrote that talk was “Track had some altercation with a person who may or many not have once dated one of the Palin girls. That led to some pushing and shoving, which escalated somehow to the family being asked to leave the premises.”
Yet one more political blogger who works in Alaska said the Iron Dog event was largely a “nice, mellow party, until the Palins show up,” Raw Story reported.
Alcohol may have been a factor in the fight, Raw Story reported.
Mrs. Palin’s Facebook page said she was traveling on Saturday, but there was no response or comment about the brawl.
