Former Ravens running back Ray Rice — who was captured on video knocking out his then-fiancee Janay Palmer in an elevator at Atlantic City — reportedly said he hasn’t touched a drop of hard liquor since he attacked her.

And he’s not planning on drinking any in the future, either, he says, TMZ reported.

Mr. Rice and Janay were married after the widely publicized elevator incident, which occurred in February. Both have turned to religion to move past their difficulties, the New York Daily News reported.

The NFL, meanwhile, has issued an indefinite suspension to Mr. Rice, while Baltimore released him from its rosters.

Mr. Rice has claimed that alcohol played a factor in the attack, while his wife, Janay, has come forward and appealed for the nation to butt out and leave their marriage alone — while unleashing particularly harsh criticisms against the press.
