Almost two-thirds in France want their Socialist leader, Francois Hollande, to step down from his presidential role before his term ends in 2017, new poll numbers show.
The IFOP/Le Figaro magazine survey showed that 62 percent would like Mr. Hollande to quit before the next election in three years, the New York Post reported.
By the numbers, Mr. Hollande is the most unpopular president in the nation since World War II, with approval ratings that sometimes drop as low as 13 percent, the Post reported.
Unemployment has been above 10 percent, taxes are soaring — and Mr. Hollande’s promised economic reforms have largely fallen flat, according to the Post.
The poll of 1,002 aged 18 and older was conducted online Sept. 8-9.
