A tough-talking Texas sheriff had a strong message for Islamic State terrorists who might have sleeper cells near the Lone Star state, bluntly telling them in a CNN interview to stay sleeping — or else face death.

“If they rear their ugly head, we’ll send them to hell,” said Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter, during an interview about Islamic State plans to attack the United States via the group’s domestic sleeper cells.

Sheriff Painter also said that he’d sent out a bulletin to warn fellow Texans that the Islamic State may have a cell near Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, just a few miles from El Paso, Texas. The FBI wouldn’t comment on the warning, but law enforcement agents in the region have gone on alert, The Blaze reported.

“[It’s] naive to say” that Islamic State terrorists aren’t operating quietly within the United States, Sheriff Painter said, calling for the White House to hit the terrorist group. “What needs to happen is that there needs to be enough bombs dropped on them that even if they hear a jet propeller, they urinate themselves down both legs.”

The interview aired a few days ago but only started to go viral this week, The Blaze reported.
