In what seems to be a downside of open carry laws, a gun enthusiast in Gresham, Oregon, said he was standing and chatting with cousin — with his Walther P22 pistol in full, permitted view — when a 6-foot-tall man approached and said: “I like your gun. Give it to me,” KOIN Channel 6 reported.

William Coleman III, 21, said the black male suspect pulled his own gun from his pants waistband as he demanded his P22, Raw Story reported.

Mr. Coleman said he handed over his weapon and watched the man flee. He told police the suspect was between the ages of 19 and 23, wearing gray sweatpants, flip flops and a white T-shirt, the media outlet reported.
