Stephen Collins, the actor who played a minister and father of seven on the wholesome family show “7th Heaven,” has been reportedly captured on tape admitting he molested a girl and exposed himself to a couple more.
Mr. Collins allegedly admitted the incidents during a 2012 therapy session with Faye Grant, who’s now his ex-wife, TMZ first reported.
Ms. Grant secretly recorded the counseling session during their divorce, the New York Daily News reported. TMZ obtained the tapes just this week.
The New York Police Department kicked off an investigation into the 67-year-old actor for inappropriate sexual contact with minor-aged children, TMZ said.
The recording includes Mr. Collins saying he exposed himself to a girl in New York at least three times, when she was 11 years old, 12 and 13, the newspaper reported.
The girl was related to his first wife, Marjorie Weinman, he said. And on one of those occasions, he molested her and placed her hand on his body, the tapes indicate Mr. Collins as saying, TMZ reported.
Mr. Collins also reportedly admitted during counseling that he exposed himself to other girls who were underage, the New York Daily News reported.
Mr. Collins starred as the Rev. Eric Camden in the CW’s “7th Heaven,” from 1996 to 2007.
