President Obama took a cheap shot at Fox News during a speech to a Northwestern University crowd, telling listeners that the cable outlet went above and beyond the realm of realities when reporting on the negatives of Obamacare.
He made the remarks in context of calling for honest campaign rhetoric and saying that “a true opposition party should now have the courage to lay out their agenda, hopefully also grounded in facts,” Mediaite reported.
Mr. Obama then spoke of the need of what he characterized as truthful reporting on his signature health care law.
“While good affordable health care might seem like a fanged threat to the freedom of the American people on Fox News, it turns out it’s working pretty well in the real world,” he said, Mediaite reported.
At least one Fox News host — Greta Van Susteren — reacted to the snipe.
“When leaders blame others, they sure don’t look like leaders,” she said, during a recent broadcast. “They look absolutely childish.” She also chided Mr. Obama to “act presidential” and to stop using policy speeches as opportunities to “settle petty scores,” she said, Mediaite reported.

“Skip the trash talk,” she advised, the news blog reported. “It only diminishes the office of the president.”
