Mickey’s Fun Wheel at Disneyland in California broke down mid-twirl, leaving dozens of riders stranded for hours while mechanics worked to solve the technical issue.

“It was definitely hot up there,” said one rider, Anthony Sanchez, to CBS News. “First 45 minutes was, we had no communication of what was happening. We could hear someone saying, ’Thanks for your patience.’ We didn’t know what was happening.”

The riders were stuck for about two hours.

The park said it ultimately manually rotated the wheel to allow riders to exit.

“We walked out, and they had wet towels, water and ice cream for us,” Mr. Sanchez said, in CBS News. “They were very, very apologetic about it.”
