OPINION:
Secretary of State John F. Kerry promises $212 million of our tax money will be given to the terrorist organization Hamas to rebuild Gaza (“U.S. promises $212 million in assistance to Gaza,” Oct. 13). Hamas attacked the sovereign state of Israel, and Israel responded as any sovereign nation would.
If a person burns their own house down, would an insurance company pay to rebuild it? Of course not. Does the American taxpayer owe Hamas for causing a self-inflicted wound? Let Iran pay for rebuilding. They gave Hamas the rockets to attack Israel. Where are all the Arab states that shed crocodile tears for Gaza? The Obama administration has a bleeding heart for the Hamas-governed Gaza and will bleed the American treasury dry to show how much they care, the U.S. taxpayer notwithstanding.
