President Obama and his fellow Democrats may talk a good game when it comes to eschewing the influence of lobbyist and big-corporation money in politics, but they’re hardly following through with action, “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart said Monday in a blistering commentary.

Mr. Stewart called out the Democrats as hypocrites for condemning Republicans for taking big corporate and donor dollars, yet doing the same, especially in recent competitive races.

He likened the state of Democrats on big money as “thou shalt not kill, but if you’re going to …” he said, leaving the thought unfinished.

Mr. Stewart also blasted recent Democratic Party fundraising emails, saying the “embarrassing” subject lines — “We’ve Got Nothing Left,” “All Hope Is Lost,” “We’re Done. Go Home. Give Up.” — reveal just how desperate the left has become to beat Republicans.
