Former President Bill Clinton, who already barnstormed his home state of Arkansas earlier this month to support Democratic candidates in the upcoming midterm elections, is scheduled to return this weekend for a three-day jaunt, according to the state Democratic party.

Mr. Clinton is scheduled to hit up the Hot Springs Farmers Market on Fri., Oct. 17 before heading to his hometown of Hope for a stop at a train depot Saturday. The former president and Arkansas governor is then scheduled to head to North Little Rock, Pine Bluff, and Forrest City on Sunday.

With President Obama’s approval rating as low as 31 percent in the state in recent polling, Democrats are hopeful Mr. Clinton can muster up enthusiasm among members of the party rank and file already less inclined to vote in non-presidential years.

Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor has his hands full in his re-election campaign against GOP Rep. Tom Cotton, while former GOP Rep. Asa Hutchinson appears to have a leg up in his race against former Democratic Rep. Mike Ross to replace outgoing Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe.
