NEW YORK (AP) - A woman is dead after being struck by a school bus on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

Police say a woman believed to be in her 40s was hit around 3:30 p.m., Thursday at East 93rd Street and Second Avenue.

The fire department says the woman was in cardiac and respiratory arrest and died before firefighters and officers arrived.

Police say the five children on the bus were not injured. They say the matter is still under investigation.
