ATLANTA (AP) - A Fulton County sheriff’s deputy is hospitalized after a wreck involving his patrol car outside Atlanta.
The deputy was in serious condition at a hospital after the early Tuesday morning crash in southwest Atlanta.
Authorities tell WSB-TV that the deputy was heading to a call involving a fight with weapons. While en route, they say he lost control of the squad car and veered off the road. The car flipped and landed upside, barely missing a large rock.
CBS Atlanta reports that the deputy was able to radio the Fulton County 911 dispatch center around 12:35 a.m. Tuesday that he was just involved in crash on Boat Rock Road.
Firefighters had to cut him out of the car before paramedics took him to a hospital.
