MILWAUKEE (AP) - The Arizona Diamondbacks placed reliever J.J. Putz on the 15-day disabled list Monday with tightness in his forearm.

Putz is 1-0 in 13 appearances this season. The right-hander last pitched May 3 going one-third of an inning against San Diego, giving up two hits and two runs. The move was announced after the Diamondbacks were beaten by the Milwaukee Brewers 8-3.

To replace Putz on the roster, Arizona recalled right-hander Evan Marshall from Triple-A Reno. In 14 games at Reno, Marshall is 0-1 with a 0.54 ERA and one save.

Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Putz started to feel pain during the team’s weekend series in San Diego. “We waited today to see how he was,” Gibson said. “He came in and wasn’t very good.”
