CHICAGO (AP) - Illinois State Police say a 22-year-old Chicago man is dead after he was struck by a car while running across Interstate 94 on the city’s South Side.

Police say the accident happened about 3 a.m. on Sunday. They say the pedestrian was running across the interstate when he was struck by sedan.

Police say the driver of the sedan was wearing a seatbelt.

Authorities say they don’t know why the man ran across the roadway. He was not immediately identified.
