TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - Hundreds of Terre Haute city workers got unwelcome news Friday when a computer glitch prevented their paychecks from being directly deposited into their bank accounts.

The City Controller’s office said in a statement that the problem was caused by the city’s software and prevented direct deposits of employee pay into their accounts.

City officials say they’re working to fix the software glitch.

The Tribune-Star reports (https://bit.ly/1rvh8hs ) that by Friday afternoon, employees with accounts at First Financial and Woodforest National Bank had their funds via direct deposit.

But about 200 other employees required paper checks.

Terre Haute’s City Hall was open until noon Saturday so that employees who did not get paid Friday can receive paychecks from the City Controller’s office.
