TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - A 22-year-old Arizona State University student has been sentenced to nine months of unsupervised probation in connection with two young women suffering burns while attending a house party in Tempe.
A Maricopa County Superior Court spokesman says Andrew Kent was sentenced Friday by Judge Rosa Mroz.
Kent had pleaded guilty to misdemeanor endangerment on May 5. He had been charged with aggravated assault in the March 2013 incident.
Police said an 18-year-old student and a 17-year-old California girl visiting the university received very serious burns when a liquor bottle exploded after being thrown into a bonfire.
