NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) - Police in Connecticut say a New York man who was arrested on a ferry had a loaded gun and had threatened to kill people in Long Island and Massachusetts.
Police say they arrested 43-year-old Shawn Douglas of Southampton, New York, on the Cross Sound Ferry after it docked in New London on Thursday afternoon. He was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, breach of peace and possession of marijuana.
New London police say Douglas threatened to kill someone in Southampton and got on the ferry in Orient Point, New York, after telling relatives he was going to Massachusetts to kill another family member. Authorities say he is likely to face more charges in New York.
It’s not clear if Douglas has an attorney.
