HOUSTON (AP) - Houston-area authorities say a 60-year-old man expressed worries before his death about one of three people now charged with killing him.
Jimmy Boyd’s 19-year-old granddaughter, Cierra Jacobs, is charged with capital murder, as are 17-year-old Carino Ratcliff and 20-year-old Juan Lopez.
After Boyd’s sister reported him missing, a body believed to be Boyd was found last week in a north Houston retention pond.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says Boyd told someone days before his death that if anything happened to him, Lopez would be the one to blame.
Deputies say in charging documents that the three admitted to killing Boyd, allegedly because they wanted some of his things.
None of the three had attorneys listed in online records.
