NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A second straight postseason tournament appearance has resulted in a contract extension for Tulane head basketball coach Ed Conroy.
Athletics Director Rick Dickson said Friday that the university had extended Conroy’s contract through the 2017 season.
In four seasons with the Green Wave, Conroy has 65 wins - the fourth most by any Tulane coach over the same timeframe. He has also led Tulane to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament in 2013 and the College Basketball Invitational in 2014, the first back-to-back postseason appearances since 1996 and 1997.
Dickson says Conroy “continues to prove that he can assemble a roster and improve the development of young men in this program in all facets, which is extremely important as we move into our inaugural season of American Athletic Conference in 2014-15.”
