JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say two Forest men have been sentenced on charges in a methamphetamine case.
A news release from the U.S. attorney’s office says 37-year-old Charles Dewayne Loper was sentenced to just over eight years in prison while 34-year-old Shamal Anton Moss was sentenced to nine years. Loper and Moss were sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Jackson. Each was placed on four years’ supervised release.
Prosecutors say each man previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.
The two are among several people indicted following an investigation called “Operation Brusha” that targeted illegal narcotics distribution in Scott County.
