DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Air Force officials say a new leader will command Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in southwest Ohio when the current commander retires this summer.

The base said in a statement Thursday that Col. John Devillier (duh-VIL’-yay) will replace Col. Cassie Barlow as commander of the 88th Air Base Wing in a ceremony July 17 at the National Museum of the Air Force.

Devillier now commands Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. He previously commanded the 466th Expeditionary Group in Afghanistan.

Barlow has been wing commander since July 17, 2012 and is retiring after a 26-year Air Force career.

The 88th wing is one of the one of the largest air base wings in the Air Force with more than 5,000 military, civilian, and contractor employees.
