BEND, Ore. (AP) - Two Bend street division workers have settled their beefs with the city after claiming they were targeted for complaining about employees playing pingpong on the clock, among other things.
The Bend Bulletin reports (https://is.gd/IiRoUf) Craig Qual and Skip Stenkamp settled for $7,500 each and changes will be made to their personnel files. Each had initially sought between $150,000 and $499,000.
Qual complained to the street division manager after saying he received numerous non-emergency calls from his manager while he was on medical leave. He then said he was subjected to shift and eventually a job change.
Stenkamp claimed he was retaliated against for backing Qual and for filing a worker’s compensation case. Both also complained about employees playing pingpong on duty, a claim the city disputes.
