MILWAUKEE (AP) - A new poll shows support in Wisconsin for raising the minimum wage.
A Marquette University law school poll released Wednesday shows 63 percent of registered voters support raising the minimum wage, while 33 percent oppose it. Four percent don’t know.
The poll also shows most voters think it should be up to state lawmakers, not local officials, should raise the minimum wage.
Fifty percent said they think a minimum wage hike should be up to the state, while 42 percent say they support local control over the minimum wage. Eight percent don’t know.
The poll of 801 registered voters has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
