CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The unemployment rate increased in 52 of West Virginia’s 55 counties in February.

WorkForce West Virginia says jobless rates fell in Clay, Hancock and Mason counties.

Monongalia County has the state’s lowest unemployment rate at 4.6 percent, followed by Jefferson at 5.3 percent.

Wetzel County’s rate of 13.2 percent was the state’s highest, followed by Calhoun County at 13.1 percent.

The state’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate in February rose one-tenth of a percentage point to 6 percent. .
