MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Ann Walsh Bradley has recused herself from ruling on a lawsuit seeking to halt a secret investigation into possible illegal coordination between conservative groups and recent recall campaigns.
Attorneys for three unnamed petitioners had asked a state appeals court to suspend the so-called John Doe probe. The 4th District Court of Appeals rejected the request but the attorneys have asked the Supreme Court to review the decision.
Bradley said in a letter Wednesday that her son, John Bradley, practices law with Dean Strang, one of the attorneys seeking to stop the probe. She said her son isn’t involved in that case but to avoid the appearance of a conflict she has decided to bow out.
