LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police said Sunday they have no solid leads that might help find two parents who allegedly abducted their four children from a grandmother’s home.

A statewide Amber Alert was issued early Saturday after the children - two boys ages 5 and 7, and twin 1-year-old girls - were taken.

Police said the children were in protective custody with their grandmother because their father was physically abusive.

Los Angeles Police Officer Sally Madera said that while detectives are actively working the case, “as of right now, unfortunately, there have been no leads.” She encouraged the public to contact police with any tips.

Police said the suspects fled in a dark-colored PT Cruiser with paper license plates and a missing right-rear hubcap.
