ABERDEEN, Wash. (AP) - Union workers began a three-day strike Friday against Behavioral Health Resources, an agency that provide mental health and addiction treatment to about 10,000 clients in Grays Harbor, Thurston, and Mason counties.
Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union represents 250 case managers, therapists, nurses and other mental health professionals. They are striking eight locations in a pay dispute. The walkout will end at 8 a.m. Monday.
Behavioral Health Resources says it has experienced serious financial difficulties in recent months and has turned to the public for fundraising assistance to cover communications systems and computers in critical departments.
