The owner of Swett, S.D., has announced plans to sell his unincorporated hamlet in Bennett County for $400,000 to free up time to focus on his personal business.

“I hate to get rid of it,” said Lance Benson, who owns the town where he and his wife are the only residents, United Press International reported. “If I don’t sell it this first year, I would probably keep it.”

The town spans just over 6 acres, and includes a bar, a workshop, three trailers and just one home. Back in the 1940s, about 40 lived there — and it also included a post office, a grocery and several other houses, UPI said.
