Four separate explosions rocked through Cairo’s subway system early Wednesday, injuring two and sending morning commuters into panic mode.
Egypt’s security force said the explosions occurred at subway stations located in central and in northern Cairo, The Associated Press reported. Investigators have concluded the bombs were homemade, though they’re not yet releasing further details.
Nobody’s yet taken responsibility for the attacks, which are the first in a month, since former army head Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi was elected as president.
Islamic terrorists who supported former — and ousted — President Mohammed Morsi have been staging attacks across the nation to protest the coup that shook him from office.
