Authorities have arrested two suspects in connection to a report from Albania’s central bank that nearly $7 million in cash was stolen.

The Bank of Albania — the facility that regulates the nation’s prices via oversight of 16 private banks — reported that the cash wasn’t stolen as lump sum, but rather over a period of time, The Associated Press reported.

The Bank of Albania also insisted that banking operations had never been compromised during the thefts, AP reported.

Two were arrested tied to the theft investigation, and authorities say they’ve confessed to stealing money over four years and using it to gamble, AP reported.
