Hawaii’s latest government job offering is an $81,000-a-year taxpayer-funded position for someone who can dish out information to residents about the best ways to avoid falls and fall-related injuries.
The fall prevention and early detection coordinator will teach at the state’s senior citizen centers and advise how to avoid falls, Watchdog.org reported.
Among the expected tidbits of advice, Watchdog.org found: Hold on to the railing while utilizing stairwells. When possible, remain seated.
Gov. Neil Abercrombie signed a bill this week that includes creation of — and funding for — the position under the Department of Health’s Emergency Medical Service and Injury Prevention branch.
