Outgoing Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann said she’s a bit perturbed she hasn’t been included in speculation about possible 2016 Republican presidential candidates — and that she’s not yet ruled herself out of the picture.
“The only thing that the media has speculated on is that it’s going to be various men that are running,” she said, Real Clear Politics reported. “They haven’t speculated, for instance, that I’m going to run. What if I decide to run? And there’s a chance I could run.”
Mrs. Bachmann is one of a handful of 2012 Republican contenders reportedly mulling a do-over, including Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum.
Mr. Santorum has expressed a strong intent to try again, saying at book signing in Pennsylvania that he was “definitely considering” another run at the White House and will announce his decision “sometime next year,” the Daily Mail said.
Mr. Perry, meanwhile, has also traveled to Iowa recently for a church service and for a local Republican Party event, admitting to The Washington Post that “I am preparing for the possibility of a presidential run,” he said.
Other possible GOP candidates for the White House include N.J. Gov. Chris Christie, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Sens. Marco Rubio, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz and conservative author and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.
