Two were injured and more than 100 evacuated from the site of a Wisconsin train derailment that spilled diesel fuel, authorities said.
Slinger Fire Department chief Rick Hanke said 10 cars and three engines derailed late Sunday evening, and officials were on scene to investigate the cause, CBS reported. The trains were owned by Canadian National Railway Co. and by Wisconsin & Southern.
Nearly 5,000 gallons of fuel spilled from one of the engines and Hazmat crews were still trying to contain and clean the area hours later, CBS said. Six separate fire department responded to the disaster.
The two people hurt were treated for minor injuries, while Red Cross was helping nearby homeowners evacuate and set up temporary shelter at a local middle school.
