A condom that can kill the HIV virus and designed by a bio-tech firm in Australia is set to hit stores within the next few months.

Researchers say the VivaGel condom kills 99.9 percent of HIV, herpes and human papilloma virus, due to the active ingredients in the lubricant, according to the Daily Mail.

The lubricant contains 0.5 percent astodrimer sodium, a drug designed specifically to fight against HIV.

Starpharma, the product’s manufacturer, received an OK from the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration, opening the doors to mass marketing, production and sales. It’s just waiting for final regulatory approval, the Daily Mail reported.

Starpharma is producing the product in conjunction with Anseil, a major condom manufacturer in Australia.
