Missy Robertson, the wife of “Duck Dynasty” star Jase Robertson, said she has an idea why some in the nation take such umbrage with the show and especially with its religious slant: It’s the battle of principalities.
“I think a lot of people, because they see us as Christian, there is spiritual warfare out there,” she said, The Blaze reported. “Not everyone is Christian. We know that. But we, hopefully, are trying to show Jesus through love and not judgment and criticism. We don’t want to be looked at that way.”
Mrs. Robertson also said her family members — who wrap each show with a dinner table scene that includes a prayer — would not stand down on their public professions and displays of faith.
“A lot of people want to keep us quiet,” she said, The Blaze reported. “You know, they don’t want that. But we’re not going to be quiet. We just can’t. We’re not going to be bullied, basically.”
She also spoke about the now-famous GQ interview with Phil Robertson, the family patriarch, during which he cited biblical passages that showed homosexuality was a sin — and said critics were wrong to condemn him because he was only quoting the Bible.
