Barnstable Police arrested a man late Tuesday evening who was suspected of breaking into the famed Kennedy Compound in Hyannis Port.
The Hyannis News reported that Ted Kennedy Jr. was the caller who alerted police to the presence of the suspect in the home.
The complainant said he was at his home in Connecticut, but had placed a call to his son at the compound in Massachusetts — and a man who identified himself as James Lacroix answered the phone, CBS reported. Mr. Kennedy then asked police to check on the home and find out why a strange man answered the phone.
Officers said they responded and found a man in the kitchen who said he was looking for the singer Katy Perry.
Mr. Lacroix, 53, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, CBS reported.
The compound is a famous Kennedy family hangout. But two years ago, the Kennedy family gave up ownership to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute.
